An integrated, networked asynchronous computing and multi-tasking platform with sandboxed (quota-based) memory and disk storage.

When approaching a multi-user paradigm and complex simulation, developing ways to program while allowing the system to move all of the individual working parts can be accomplished with the Thetaplane platform through its coding interface. Python programmers can now choose to host their programs in an existing ecosystem featuring backend, frontend, and networking solutions.

This translates to freedom of code: Insert feature-rich code at key places within the site to activate permission-sensitive tasks bound to the environment you are browsing. Site features simplify logical content so that instead of feeling like coding your application develops as you interact with the platform.

Remember typing MOO code into a terminal, having to memorize all of the objects to build the world? Having to ask a programmer to code your npcs and room special procedures? Enter the Web. By serving HTML and AJAX, programming is now a standardized, state-of-the-art experience and is fully customizable. Similarly, the system object is now an integrated filesystem library, like the LPC root master object. Development is available to all users using a python-like language, and all computational usage is tracked and transferred to a billable account: your customers.

The Agent System presents an (web) interface to the server for controlling programs running on that server and lets you develop applications on it while much of the networking and synchronization intricacies get out of the way but still makes available a rich ecosystem of powerful software from an easy to understand language.

Utilize this new PaaS/FaaS to craft dedicated tasks and interactive world server processes that feature long-running programs and fine-grained multithreading and access-control. A MUDOS with an extensible filesystem and instantiable architecture and native interfacing layer.

The application implements an OS platform but with all relevant operating system features emulated in userland by extending the python runtime in-language. This includes a completely sandboxed and fine-grained multitasking model with managed memory and disk storage. As a networked application it is service-ready and natively multi-user.

The purpose of the application is to allow foreign code to run in a system that controls its computational schedule, memory and disk usage managed by a userland, networked process. This simplifies delivery of native features and coordination among virtualized tasks while administration of user resources is in the domain of the python language application.

Intelligently consume internet services by programming agents that extract and report data using code hosted entirely at Thetaplane.
